Lions Year 2019/2020

Dear Fellow Lion Dignatories & Members,

I stand humbled by the task before me as the President of the Club, grateful to the trust you all have upon me.

Before I go further, I would like to congratulate President Tricia Tang and her Board of Directors for an outstanding year of service. The many stunning achievement in raising funds for our projects are a credit to you. May I ask that we put our hands together to applause and congratulate her and her team for their service the past year.

Next, I am thankful to you, my fellow club members for placing your trust in me as your next Club President. I am extremely honoured and sincerely want to thank the incoming board members for agreeing to serve with me.

I would want to assure all that they, the new board members would be like me fully committed, enthusiastic and excited by the possibilities and ready as my tagline reads: "Let Us [Lions] Serve With D (Dedication) E (Empathy / EQ) P (Passion / Persevere) T (Teamwork / Bonding) Humility (Harmony)".

We look forward to more active participation in the various upcoming projects, it may not necessary be monetary but contribution in other small ways such as being around to assist out in the projects. We should be continuing with our current signature projects like the vegetable collection at the Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre and the Hair & Nails service for our SAC seniors where they had greatly shown their appreciation in our ongoing efforts to support their needs.

Activities with our overseas Twin Clubs would not be forgotten as well and we hope to be able to engage with them in whatever ways possible. Other projects such as fund raising during Flag Days, awareness regarding the Diabetes Society programmes, ARC children needs, Environment projects and any other new projects will also be taken into our new team efforts and consideration for the betterment of Lionism in society.

This term would be another exciting year with many more challenges to level up to the many service projects that we already have. Looking forward to the celebration of our Club's 25th Anniversary which would be held sometime in March 2020 and another big memorable event, the Lions Convention International in June 2020.

So, here is my wish for all Club members to be cohesive, cooperative, compassionate and with the right mind and attitude to bring our club to another height where we will soar with greater dedication, humility, integrity and together we could make a good team. Let us move ahead in our stride steadily and we should be able to achieve our goals as true Lions where our motto lies: "We Serve with DEPTH".
